Message from Year 7 Student

I know that saying goodbye to your friends and teachers in primary school and moving to a new school can be quite daunting, however there are many opportunities for you to meet new people and make new friends. Don’t be worried as you will be more than welcomed here at Wood Green and get used to it right away!

At Wood Green Academy, you’ll get to experience exciting things such as doing interesting science experiments with the Bunsen burners. I have personally enjoyed learning a new language and I’m sure you will find your interest too. We also have a trip away to Edgemond Hall, as well as many different after-school clubs including gymnastics, football and more.

At our school we believe that the life skills you learn throughout your time here are just as important as the academic skills you learn too. We believe that having an ‘I Can, I Will’ attitude will improve your success, not only in your studies, but in your entire life. These 7 characteristics are: Resilience, Drive, Curiosity, Risk Taking, Reflectiveness, Flexibility of Mind and Initiative.

In your first weeks, you may think it is a strict school and not be used to the number of rules, but all you need to do is ask someone if you’re hesitant. I assure you that anyone will be glad to guide you if you need any help. Wood Green Academy staff are always here for you, they want you to reach your full potential. To do this, you may need to come out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself.

As you enter your first year at Wood Green Academy, you will realise that Wood Green Academy is like a big family where everyone fits in and no one is left out, we are all together and proud to be part of this school, we look forward to meeting you all in September!
