Learning Support Assistant

 

CONTRACT: 29 hours 10 mins per week – TERM TIME ONLY Fixed contract until August 31st 2027 in the first instance

 

START DATE: As soon as possible after 1st September 2026 depending on pre-employment checks

 

SALARY SCALE: Band B Pt 3 + SEN Allowance * This would be pro-rata for hours and Term Time ONLY (approx. £17,000 per year)

 

We are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant whose principal role is to provide in-classroom support to our SEND students, under the direction of the teacher. The role involves providing both academic support and welfare support. This is a fixed term post, starting ASAP after all pre-employment checks have been completed. We are particularly but not solely interested in applicants who have the ability to support students in Maths, English and Science at Key Stage 4.

 

The successful candidate should be able to offer excellent communication skills and experience of working with young people would be an advantage. Applicants must have at least a grade C or 4 in English or Maths at GCSE/Level 2. Original evidence of qualifications will be required at interview. 

 

This position provides excellent preparation for people who are considering careers in teaching and who are looking to gain experience of working with young people or working in a school setting.

    We are seeking to appoint a Safeguarding Manager who has a passion for making a difference to children’s lives and work as part of our pastoral, welfare and safeguarding team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to the welfare Wood Green Academy students.
