Teacher of Design and Technology

Start:                    September 2024  

 

Contract:             Permanent 

 

Salary:                 Main Pay Range – Upper Pay Scale + £3,000 Golden Hello

 

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, committed and well-qualified teacher of Design and Technology. 

 

 

As an academy, we are over-subscribed and consistently achieve some of the highest results in Sandwell. In our most recent Ofsted of February 2020 the school was judged to be good with outstanding features. We are extremely proud of being one of few secondary schools in the country to have been graded as outstanding for behaviour and attitudes under the new Ofsted framework. We have an excellent location being less than 15 miles from the centre of Birmingham whilst having excellent national links via both the M5 and the M6.

 

 

As an enthusiastic and committed teacher, you would join a welcoming, highly trained, and very supportive Design and Technology department.  The department is managed by the Head of D & T who is supported by a second in Dpt.  The department has also a vast experience in successfully mentoring both ITT trainees and ECTs.

        Learning Hub Manager    

         

        Learning Hub Manager/Academic Coach  

         

        CONTRACT:     Fixed term    52 weeks a year or term time only (negotiable with successful candidate)

         

        SALARY SCALE:  Band D Point 9 (@ £25,119 -This would be pro-rata if term time only)

         

        START DATE:  ASAP  

         

        END DATE:      31ST August 2025

         

        We are seeking to appoint a Learning Hub Manager/Academic Coach who will oversee the management of the learning hub with the other manager, and who can tutor small groups and individual students in English / Literacy up to GCSE level.

         

        The successful candidate should be able to offer excellent communication skills along with experience of working with young people. Academically you would need to be sufficiently qualified to tutor students to GCSE standard (see person specification).

         

        This position provides excellent preparation for people who are considering careers in teaching and who are looking to gain experience of working with young people or working in a school setting.

We are looking for an individual who has the required knowledge and experience to fulfil the duties and responsibilities of the role.
