Location: Report of an incident in the Wednesbury area

An intruder entered a school site by jumping a fence. The male was swiftly located and walked off the site by staff.

Friday 18th June at 4.15pm

Location: Car park of KFC, Wolverhampton Road, Oldbury

A report has been received that two students [Year 7 and Year 8] were offered sweets and attempts were made to lure them into a black car by a male. Both students ran home safely.

Description: Asian male, stocky build.

Thursday 17th June 2021 at 8.45am 

Location: Pathway adjacent to the tramline from West Bromwich to the Hawthorns


A report has been received that this morning a group of three men approached a female student and exposed themselves and committed a “lewd act”. One of the men approached the student but she punched him and ran. Another female was walking in the opposite direction and two of the males started to follow her and the student shouted to her to run.


Description: three Asian males, wearing dark clothes and white face masks.


The police have been notified.

Wednesday 16th June 2021 at 3.45pm 

Location: Tipton

A report has been received that on Wednesday 16 June 2021, approximately 3.45pm, a student was walking home from school and was followed by a male who was shouting inappropriate comments to her. The student ran into a nearby garden and then home.


Description: male, aged 30 plus, approximately 6’ 1” tall, medium build, wearing plain black hoodie with hood up, grey Nike tracksuit bottoms and blue/red Nike trainers.


The police have been notified.

Wednesday 16th June 2021 at 3.10pm 

Location: West Bromwich


A report has been received that on Wednesday 16 June 2021 at 3.10pm, while two students were walking home, a male exposed himself. One of the student’s also witnessed the male committing a sexual act. The students walked away, and the male followed them for a short while, the students went back into school.


Description: male, in his 40’s, approximately 5ft 6 inches tall, dark hair and wearing a black‑mask, blue jacket and dark blue trousers.


The police have been notified.

Tuesday 15th June 2021 at 7.45am 

Location: Bearwood Road, Smethwick


A parent has reported to a school that a Year 7 student was walking along the pavement when a van slammed its brakes on next to the student. The passenger wound his window down and the driver pulled on a red face mask. The student ran home as he was scared.


Description: two Asian males, one wearing a bandana. The van was described as a white Transit style van and “quite battered”.

At approximately 08:40, a female student was walking down the Wood Green Road near the Horse and Jockey pub. A white van, with 2 males inside, pulled up next to the student with the window open and one of the males started to smile and nod at the student. The male said, “come in, come in”. The student walked off and the van then drove off.

The person was described as a white male in his 50’s, wearing a black beanie hat. He had a ginger medium length beard and was wearing a black top. The student was unable to provide a description of the second male.

Police have been notified.

Safety alert – Walsall area

Two Year 12 girls were walking home on Monday along Wednesbury Road in Pleck at about 1pm and a car pulled up. It was black and there was an Asian man in it with a black man. The Asian man asked if they knew of anywhere to eat around there any Asian food. They said Karma. He kept asking the same thing at least 5 times which they interpreted as him wanting them to get closer to the car. He then asked if they were legal and said oh you must be as you have ID badges. He asked if they were in a relationship and asked for their phone numbers. He said they could whats app. They started to walk away and he kept shouting for them to come back.

On Friday 19 October 2018 at approximately 3.30pm, a Year 4 pupil was waiting for her mum at the front of the school, when she was approached by two girls in high school uniform. They asked the pupil if she wanted to be their friend, to have some sweets, and if she wanted to go with them.

The pupil’s mum returned and approached them. The girls ran away.

Police have been notified.

Alert: report of an incident in the Tipton area

At 8.45am this morning [10 October 2018], a man was reported as acting suspiciously outside Jubilee Park Academy. Although the man did not approach any children, two parents and a volunteer member of staff found his actions to be suspicious and reported him to the school.

Description: male, wearing a teal‑blue beanie hat, yellow Hi‑Vis jacket and carrying a black satchel and a black backpack.

Location: Highgate Street, by the bus stop near Best Street.

On Wednesday 19 September 2018, at approximately 10am, a sixth form student reported that she was approached by a car and asked questions by the driver, which made her feel uncomfortable. The student walked faster, but the car continued to follow. At this point the student believed that one of the passengers was going to get out of the vehicle, when a member of the public intervened and accompanied the student to school.

Description: three Asian males, approximately late 20s/early 30s. The driver had a short beard. The car was a white BMW 3 Series [4 door].

The police were notified.

Description: white male, approximately 6ft tall with dark brown hair and wearing dark blue trousers and a dark blue hoodie.

Alert: report of an incident in them Rowley Regis area

On Monday 17 September 2018 at 7.30pm a student was walking home on Throne Road, Rowley Regis when she was followed by a black car, possibly a Vauxhall Corsa. There were three men in the car who shouted at the student and asked how old she was. A woman driver who saw the incident, beeped the horn for them to move on, and then walked the student home.

Description: The driver was a white male, in his 30s, with scruffy dark hair and full beard. The front passenger was a white male, in his 30s with shaved hair. The rear passenger was obscured by the car’s tinted glass.

The police have been notified.

At approximately 8.30am this morning, two Year 6 pupils were on their way to school along Scaffel Way, West Bromwich, when a car approached them. The window of the car was down and the driver opened the door slightly and beckoned the students to the car.

Description: mixed race male, aged 20 to 30‑years‑old, bald with a “bit of a beard”, driving a white/cream Mini with tinted windows and black stripe on boot, roof and bonnet .

On Wednesday 20 June 2018, a Year 6 student was walking home along Central Avenue, Tipton, when a man started taking photographs of her. The man then got into his car, a black Range Rover, and followed the girl home.

A report of an incident on Saturday 9 June 2018.

A pupil from Old Park Primary School was playing in the front garden when he was approached by a man. The man spoke to the child, encouraging him to leave the garden and tried to direct the child towards him.

Description: white male, mid‑20s to early‑30s, dark hair and wearing a black tracksuit.

The incident was reported to the police.

Alert: report of an incident in the Oldbury area

Reported by Oldbury Academy on Tuesday 12 June 2018 [am]

A notification was received, by phone, from a local garage worker. He spoke of two young boys and a girl running past him on the forecourt and into the building. They looked visibly scared so he asked if they were okay. They pointed towards a man on a bike and said he had been following them. When he realised he had been seen, the man on the bike covered his face and rode off.

Description: male, wearing a grey hoody – hood up, and riding a black bike.

Alert: report of an incident in the Rowley Regis area

Reported by St Michael’s CE High School on Tuesday 22 May 2018 [am]

The incident occurred on 21 May 2018 at 5pm at the top of Curral Road, Rowley Regis.

As the student left school to go home he was approached by two males who grabbed him by the arm and asked if he had any drugs on him. The student said he had no drugs but they did not believe him and went through his pockets, taking his money and phone. The student was punched on the mouth and cheek, near his eye. After the assault the males ran off.

This is the second time this student has been targeted by these two males.

Description: two black males, approximately 19‑years‑old, one was of stocky build and the other slim build, wearing tracksuits and ski masks. One of the males wore a baseball cap.

The police have been notified.

On the morning of Tuesday 17 April 2018, a Year 7 student was approach by a man and asked to get into his car. The incident occurred on Richards Road, Tipton and the car was described as small and black.

At approximately 9am today [Thursday 22 March 2018] a parent who was walking to school noticed a man in an alleyway, messing with his trousers and taking them up and then down, where pupils were making their way to school. The parent passed by him, but nothing was said, as he appeared to be drunk and unaware of people around him.

Location: Alleyway between Sandringham Drive and Stuart Road, Rowley Regis

Description: White male, late 20’s, 6ft tall, thin build, wearing beige trousers, blue jacket, black hoodie (hood up under jacket) and unshaven.

The police have been informed.

Tuesday 6 February 2018 [approximately 3.20pm]

A Year 8 student from Wodensborough Ormiston Academy was asked the time by an Asian male in black Peugeot car [V registration]. He then asked her to get in the car. The student ran to her mother who went to speak to the man, who subsequently drove away.

The police were notified and information was later received that the man in question had been arrested and was in custody at that time.

Notified by Sandwell Community School [Smethwick Campus] on Friday 9 February 2018 [pm]:

On Friday 9 February 2018 at 11.45am, a Year 8 student reported that a man approached her and demanded her number in a rude and offensive manner. The student ran off and saw the man get into a black car. The incident occurred near St Pauls Road.

Description: mixed race male in his 30’s, about 5’ 9”, with black hair with a “quiff” and side-burns and moustache. He is of slim build and wearing black jeans, black hoodie and a black cap.

The police have been notified.

Alert: report of an incident in the Oldbury area

Reported by The Meadows Sports College on Wednesday 31 January 2018 [pm]

At 12.20pm today [Wednesday 31 January 2018] a class returned from an offsite activity and noticed a woman in the bushes, which run parallel to the school playground, where students were due to go outside as it was approaching lunchtime. No communication was made and staff returned to the area, 15-20 minutes later and she had gone.

Location: a side road off Dudley Road East, Oldbury, that leads to the temple.

Description: Asian woman, approximately 60-years-old, wearing Asian clothing and a coat, holding a large carrier bag.

The police have been informed.

Alert: report of an incident in the Quinton area

Reported by Perryfields High School Specialist Maths and Computing College on Tuesday 23 January 2018 (pm)

On Monday 22 January 2018 at 4.50pm, a student from Perryfields High School got off the number 54 bus on Faraday Avenue, Quinton when a male gestured to her a number of times for her to go to him: the student refused. She ran to a woman who she knew and was walking down the road. When the student looked back the man was hiding behind a wall.

Description: middle-aged black male, wearing black clothing and a black baseball cap with a black peak.

The student’s parents contacted the police and the police will be taking a statement this evening.

Alert: report of an incident in the Oldbury area

Reported by Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy on Wednesday 17 January 2018 [pm]

On Wednesday 17 January 2018, at approximately 8.10am, a group of five Year 7 students from Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy were followed by a man and a woman in a white van in Elm Terrace, Tividale. The students were followed on to Birch Crescent and Packwood Road where the van pulled up in front of them. The students crossed the road and carried on along Packwood Road. The van continued to follow them and pulled up again on the corner of Packwood Road. The students ran off on to Birmingham New Road.

On Wednesday 10 January 2017, at approximately 4pm on Smethwick High Street, a seven year-old girl was grabbed by a man. He approached her as she walked home with her sister and auntie. The man held the girl’s hand and pulled her towards him. Her sister and auntie intervened.

The girl did not know the man.

Safety alert: Report of an incident in the Rowley Regis area

Reported by St Michael’s CE High School on Wednesday 6 December 2018 [am]

At 3.20pm on 5 December 2017, a student was walking from school, down an alleyway towards Brickhouse Primary School, when he was approached by two males. They asked the student if he had weed on him – he replied, “no”. One male searched the student’s pockets and took his phone, which the student managed to grab back. They then took the student’s keys and money, which he was able to get back. As the student attempted to run away he was pulled back by his bag and physically assaulted by one of the males punching him to the right side of his eye.

Description: two black males in their late teens, one wearing a deep red tracksuit and the other a dark blue tracksuit. Both males wore their hoods up and one wore a face mask. One male was of big‑build and the other slim‑build.

The police were informed of this incident this morning.

Other students have reported similar incidents of being approached by two males, as described above, and the police have been informed.

It has been reported that on Tuesday 14 November 2017 [3.40pm] three students were walking home down Wilderness Lane, Great Barr, towards the alley alongside Redhouse Park, when they were approached by a man, who spoke to them and proceeded to follow them. The students were able to walk away and reached home safely.

Description: Asian male, in his mid-sixties and wearing glasses. The man was wearing a grey hat, tracksuit bottoms and a blue fleece top.

We received a report yesterday that a parent, was grabbed by a man, on her way to collect her children from school in Ashes Road. The offender was described as male, in his 20-30’s and appeared intoxicated. The man also tried to grab a male passer-by.

Safety alert Monday 17th July, 2017

On Monday 17 July 2017 [am] it has been reported that a Year 8 student from Bristnall Hall Academy was approached by a man driving a black Ford car on Douglas Road. The man asked the girl to get into his car, stating that her parents had asked him to pick her up. The car continued to follow the student down the road.

Alert for parents and carers:

An incident occurred on Thursday 16 March 2017 at 3.15pm on Marsh Lane, West Bromwich when a mobile phone was taken off a Year 7 student on the way home from The Phoenix Collegiate.

A man on a bicycle approached the student and stole her iPhone. He was wearing all black clothes with a red and black scarf, covering most of his face.

The police have been notified.

Please see below information from Staffs Police about an app being used by young people which has raised significant concern, so you can be aware of the app should it come up at all.

“We have had an incident involving a new app available on smartphones, androids, tablets called “”. I say “new”, this is the first occasion this “App” has come to the attention of the Safenet staff in Staffordshire.

On 14/1/17 a young girl, age 12, has set up a profile on “” and has performed on a “Livestream”. The title of this she called, “I will do anything on camera”.

The broadcast starts with the a [child] twerking. She is wearing her pyjamas. People have then started to follow her broadcast. The [child] has said that she would allow anyone to watch her and there were 950 people watching her as the broadcast went on. People have then started to comment on the post. The [child then goes on to perform sexualised gestures, including revealing her naked top half]. The [child] can then be seen crying and rubbing her eyes.

When seen the [child] said she decided to download the “App”, “” after her friends at school had told her about it.

Following the download of the [child] and livestreaming the [child] had been messaged by a man who had told her to do things. The [child] allowed the male to follow her by clicking “Follow” as she would anyone who wanted to view her videos.

The [child] has been safeguarded and we are in a position to potentially ID the male. The purpose of the email is to highlight this app which some may or may not be aware of.”
