Teacher of Art & Design

Start:           January 2026

 

Contract:     Maternity Cover – Part-time 0.6 (3 days per week: Wednesday-Friday)

 

Salary:         MPR – UPR

 

Would you like to teach ART to students with OUTSTANDING BEHAVIOUR and ATTITUDES?

 

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, committed and well-qualified teacher of Art and Design to cover the maternity leave.

 

As an academy, we are over-subscribed and consistently achieve some of the highest results in Sandwell. In our most recent OFSTED of February 2020 the school was judged to be good with outstanding features. We are extremely proud of being one of few secondary schools in the country to have been graded as outstanding for behaviour and attitudes under the new Ofsted framework. This standard was maintained in our recent OFSTED inspection of April 2025. On top of that, we have an excellent location being less than 15 miles from the centre of Birmingham whilst having excellent national links via both the M5 and the M6.

 

You would join a welcoming, highly trained, and very supportive ART department. The department has great experience in successfully mentoring both ITT trainees and ECTs.

    CONTRACT: Part time, CASUAL post dictated by the external examinations’ seasons* (rota to be agreed with the Academy’s Examinations Officer) *

     

    SALARY SCALE: Hourly rate based on Band C scale (£13.26 – £13.90)

                                      

    START DATE: Date subject to clearances and exam season.

     

    We wish to appoint well-organised and dedicated Exams’ invigilators.

      Contract: Part time, CASUAL post dictated by the external examinations’ seasons* (rota to be agreed with the Academy’s Examinations Officer) *

       

      Salary Scale: Based upon teaching salary

       

      Start Date: Date subject to clearances and exam season

       

      We wish to appoint well-organised and dedicated Supervising Exams invigilator/s who will liaise with the Examinations Officer and will oversee Senior Invigilators and Exam Invigilators.

        Learning Support Assistant

         

        CONTRACT:                 29 hours 10 mins per week –TERM TIME ONLY Fixed contract, December 2025 to August 31st, 2026

         

        START DATE:              As soon as possible depending on pre-employment checks

         

        SALARY SCALE:           Band B Pt 3 + SEN Allowance * This would be pro-rata for hours and Term Time ONLY (approx. in between £16,500-17,500 per year)

         

        We are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant whose principal role is to provide in-classroom support to our SEND students, under the direction of the teacher. The role involves providing both academic support and welfare support. This is a fixed term post, starting ASAP after all pre-employment checks have been completed. We are particularly but not solely interested in applicants who have the ability to support students in Maths, English and Science at Key Stage 4.

         

        The successful candidate should be able to offer excellent communication skills and experience of working with young people would be an advantage. Applicants must have at least a grade C or 4 in English or Maths at GCSE/Level 2. Original evidence of qualifications will be required at interview. 

         

        This position provides excellent preparation for people who are considering careers in teaching and who are looking to gain experience of working with young people or working in a school setting.
