We have a variety of events happening in the month of May at Wood Green Academy.
Victory in Europe Day
VE Day, or Victory in Europe Day, marks the end of the Second World War in Europe on 8th May 1945. It is a time to honour the bravery and sacrifice of those who fought for peace and freedom. At Wood Green Academy, we recognise the importance of remembering this historic event. To mark the occasion, we will be holding assemblies throughout the week to help students reflect on its significance. Pupils and staff are invited to dress in red, white, and blue as a tribute, with a £1 donation going to the Royal British Legion.
Children’s Mental Health Week
Children’s Mental Health Week is an important time to raise awareness about the emotional well-being of young people. It encourages open conversations, support, and positive mental health habits among children and teenagers. At Wood Green Academy, we understand the significance of supporting our students’ mental health and are committed to creating a caring, inclusive environment. Throughout the week, there will be opportunities to take part in activities that promote resilience, mindfulness, and kindness. We are in the process of planning events to mark this important week and will share further details with students and parents in due course. Stay informed.
