Safeguarding Flashpoint 22 – Deepfakes, Ai and Online Safety

How confident are you in your knowledge of deepfakes and AI?

Recent research shows a significant gap between children’s use of AI tools and parents’ awareness of it. While 52% of children aged 12–15 report having tried AI tools, only 31% of parents believe their child has engaged with the technology. Further NSPCC polling of more than 3,300 adults found that nearly nine in ten parents (89%) are concerned about the potential risks associated with AI — including deepfake videos and harmful online content.

As part of our personal development programme, students will be building a deeper understanding of these issues.
