Walsall College is offering a range of taster sessions and events designed to help students explore their options and feel more confident about their next steps after Year 11 or sixth form.

The college is running “Try Before You Apply” taster sessions, giving students the chance to experience different courses before making final decisions. These sessions are particularly useful for those who may be unsure about their future, as they provide a valuable insight into college life and help students make informed choices about their next steps. As part of their events programme, Walsall College is also hosting its annual STEAM Event on Wednesday 22nd April 2026. During this event, students will be able to take part in hands-on activities led by current students, learn more about STEAM-related careers, meet local universities and employers, and try out interactive demonstrations and challenges, all designed to give a real insight into opportunities within science, technology, engineering, arts and maths.

In addition, a Travel and Tourism Coffee Morning will take place on Tuesday 12th May from 10:00am to 12:00pm. This session will provide an interactive insight into aviation, travel and tourism courses, while also exploring potential career pathways and student destinations, and offering the chance to connect with college staff and careers professionals. For students who have not yet secured a place for next year, Walsall College also offers application support sessions. Their admissions team can visit schools to support students in completing applications, exploring suitable courses and making a clear plan for September, helping to ensure that no student is left without a pathway.
