SCL Core Skills Open Day, Thursday 19th February

SCL Core Skills is inviting Year 11 students to attend an Open Day on Thursday 19th February, with centres across the Black Country open from 11am to 4pm.

This is a great opportunity for students to look around the centres, meet tutors and mentors, and find out more about the courses available from September 2026.

SCL offers alternative and supportive learning pathways for 16 to 18-year-olds, with a strong focus on personal development, employability skills and progression into further education or employment.

Courses on offer include:

• Gateway Level 1 in Building and Construction

• SEN provision delivering Gateway Level 1 Diplomas in Retail, Business and Hospitality, plus enrichment

• NCFE Level 2 Diploma in Skills for Business

• NCFE Cache Level 2 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care

All courses include an ID Passport, covering life skills such as money management, CV building, interview techniques, confidence and motivation.
