Entry Requirements

Sixth Form Entry Criteria: 

A minimum of 5 9-5 GCSE grades, which must include a grade 5 or above in either English Language or English Literature. 

 
Special Entry Requirements:
  • GCSE PE 5+
  • OR BTEC Sport Merit
  • AND GCSE Double Science 4 4+

Students must be prepared to work long hours outside lesson time to regularly review the topics covered.

Paper One: Factors affecting participation in physical activity and sport

Section A: Applied anatomy & physiology

Section B: Skill Acquisition

Section C: Sport & society

 

Paper Two: Factors affecting optimal performance in physical activity and sport

Section A: Exercise physiology and biomechanics

Section B: Sport psychology
Section C: Sport and society and technology in sport

 

Non-exam assessment: Practical performance in physical activity & sport

Students assessed as a performer or coach in the full-sided version of ONE activity

so it is important that you play and are coached in a competitive sports activity outside of school or that you coach in a competitive sports environment outside of school.

Written/verbal analysis and evaluation of performance.
