St Francis Of Assisi Catholic College

As a faith community, we have high expectations for all of our students. Our motto is “Nil satis optimum”, only the best is good enough. Students and staff alike, take a great pride in their school work. Our patron saint, St Francis of Assisi, tells us to start by doing what is necessary, then what is possible and suddenly we are doing the impossible. This is exemplified by all we say and do in our lessons and within the school community.

We work together to encourage our young people to be proactive and have a voice in our community.  We respect and value every individual and celebrate their uniqueness and their personal contribution to our school. This is an ideal setting for trainee teachers to develop and thrive.

It is one of the oldest schools in the country, founded in 1554 in Walsall. In 2018, QMGS became a founder member of the Mercian multi-academy trust along with four other Walsall schools. The four pillars of QMGS are ‘Academic in Purpose’, ‘International in Outlook’, ‘Generous in Approach’ and ‘Enterprising in Spirit’, and life at the school reflects these characteristics equally, along with adherence to the QMGS Pastoral Charter.
