What support can SLEs provide?
“Specialist leaders of education (SLEs) are outstanding middle and senior leaders who have the skills to support individuals or teams in similar positions in other schools. They understand what outstanding leadership practice in their area of expertise looks like and are skilled in helping other leaders to achieve it in their own context.”
National College for Teaching & Leadership
Wood Green Academy Teaching School Alliance has an outstanding team of SLEs consisting of both middle and senior leaders. SLEs will develop the leadership capacity of individuals and teams in other schools, using coaching or facilitation support that draws on their knowledge and expertise in their specialist area. The work will contribute to improving outcomes for children, with priority likely to be given to supporting the needs of underperforming and challenged schools.
What is the duration of an SLE Deployment?
There is no pre-defined time commitment for an SLE deployment and teaching schools work with other schools to develop a model and time scale of deployment that will meet their needs and that will be a catalyst for positive change.
How much does SLE support cost?
SLE brokerage is costed by teaching schools to meet the needs of the school being supported. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
